No objections from me. JDK 5 was released more than 3 years ago and users who still cannot use it can simply use Compass 1.2.

Also, according to the discussions on the Lucene mailing list, it seems like Lucene 3.0 (after 2.3 and the transitional 2.9) will include JDK 5 features.
